The Renesting Project is an outreach mission project through Asbury UMC in Bossier City, LA whose purpose is to gather and provide reclaimed furniture and household goods to those transitioning from homelessness within our community.

Imagine being homeless and finding an organization to help you escape homelessness. Then imagine getting into your new apartment, with nothing inside, not even a bed.

The founder of Renesting Project has seen a need within non-profit organizations and the homeless population. Some organizations are able to help find a home for this population, but the large majority of organizations are not able to furnish and supply the apartments with items needed for a home.

If you are in or near the Shreveport/Bossier City, LA area and would like to help by donating any household items (beds, furniture, kitchen items, bathroom items, artwork, lamps, etc.) or volunteer with the project, please contact Noel Haacker at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Items shall be gently used, clean and in good working order. Donation day is on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA. Please know that the living spaces are very small which means smaller scale, multipurpose furniture is best.
