A Unique Voice of faith in our community.

As Methodists we have a rich and peculiar tradition unlike any other denomination. Fundamentally, we are people of Grace. We are here because of God’s grace. As Methodists we should be experts at sharing and receiving grace, and if there’s something the world needs right now, it’s just a touch more grace in all that we say, think, and do. Other traditions highlight personal faith, God’s sovereignty, and theological tradition as cornerstones of religious expression. As Methodists, everything we do must be rooted in Grace—Prevenient Grace (God loves us even before we know God), Justifying Grace (You have been justified through Christ), and Sanctifying Grace (the power of the Holy Spirit to transform you from the inside out). We are also champions of both mercy and justice. Mercy is feeding those who are hungry. Justice is asking why people are hungry in the first place. Methodists have a long history of standing up and speaking out to “resist evil and injustice in whatever forms they present themselves.” If our good news isn’t good news for the poor (Luke 4:18), then we are no longer sharing Christ.

OUR STORY

Who we are.

From its humble beginnings at Curtis Park to its relocation to St. Stephen’s, from gathering at Bossier Parish Community College to finding a permanent home at its present-day location on Airline Drive, Asbury’s journey has been one of constant faith and continual growth.

On September 11, 2005, Asbury Church held a grand opening for its new, 900-seat sanctuary in hopes that its walls would become the church home for people looking for a warm, friendly, welcoming community of believers. It is with great anticipation that we continue this journey, as we dream of expanding our church and facilities in the coming years.

Won’t you join us and become a part of the history of Asbury?

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Matt Rawle, Lead Pastor

Our mission

What we do.

We bring hope by gathering together for dynamic worship and providing care through our ministry in our community. We build faith by providing Christian education and programming for the discipleship of children, youth, and adults. We reach out with love by engaging in missions locally, regionally and globally – making mission trips in the United States and Mexico, as well as locally with our Re-nesting Project and the Katy Build.

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
